Foundation of SKIF in United Arab Emirates

The Honbo Dojo of SKI-UAE was established by Shihan M.Sameer Najjar in 1983 under the name “Kodokan Martial Arts & Fitness” , and has since then grown to become one of the unique and pioneer Karate & Martial Arts Organization in the United Arab emirates , with the headquarter in the Emirate of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates. This centre is one of the first and pioneer Martial Arts Centers in UAE.

The Chief Instructor and proprietor of this unique Centre M.Sameer Najjar is one of the pioneer and leading Karate instructors in the Middle East and the first Karate-ka in the Arab countries since his beginning in 1966 in Damascus- Syria .

He practiced the art of Karate at that time under the late instructor Hediki Okamoto sensei in Damascus and Beirut/Lebanon. He followed an intensive course under the guidance of the late Masatoshi Nakayama the chief instructor of  JKA during that period.  His Shodan Grade was granted by the JKA chief instructor the late Masatoshi Nakayama in 1971. Then he started karate teaching and training in Damascus and Beirut and lot of students practiced under him since then.

He graduated from Damascus university and from Lebanon university in 1974 and 1975 , during which and continued karate training and teaching in Damascus and Beirut till the beginning of 1980 when he travelled to UAE to start his own and private business.

He established his Martial Arts center in the United Arab Emirate in 1983, and joined SKIF in 1988, following the philosophy of the great Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa. He attended several courses in Zurich, Taipei and Japan. Now he is a holder of 7th.Dan (Nana Dan) black belt grade from Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa (SKIF) in April,2010 .

Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa has visited SKI-UAE to held training courses for SKI-UAE members in 1993 and 2009 where he held grading examinations from Shodan till Rokudan to all members and students of Shihan Sameer Najjar.
A new Dojo of 7 storeys Building is under construction since the mid of the last year , and expected to be completed within the end of December 2012 .
